For Nigeria to deepen democracy and take her rightful place in the comity of nations, political leaders must ensure good governance through the rule of law, transparency and accountability in governance.

Convener of a workshop of civil society coalition Dr Kayode Komolafe stated this while speaking in Abuja on “Corporate governance, transparency, responsibility and accountability: The way forward.”

He said good governance was capable of encouraging unity in diversity and strengthening democratic structures and principles. He said lack of ethnic, religious, sectional, sectarian or linguistic bias in the conduct of corporate governance would promote the constitutional and territorial integrity of the country.
